Your study choice

Before you start a bachelor's degree programme, you'll want to be sure it's the right fit for you. After all, if the programme suits you, you're more likely to complete your studies successfully. That's why you check your choice before you begin.

For most programmes, you do this through the study choice activities. Four programmes have a selection procedure. Below, you can read what applies to you.

Study choice activities

The study choice activities help you check whether you're making the right choice. It isn't a test: if you meet the admission requirements, you're welcome. If you apply before 1 May, you can be sure of a place. You can still apply for these programmes after 1 May.

Step 1. Interactive Story (mandatory)

Swipe through your programme's Interactive Story. You'll see what you'll learn, what makes the programme unique, what student life is like and what kind of work you could do afterwards. Then you'll take a short quiz. Finally, you'll answer a few brief questions in My Online Application about your motivation and expectations. This step is mandatory. As soon as you complete it, your application is complete. You'll then receive your admission letter by email.

Step 2. Book your online Meet & Greet

Not 100% sure of your choice yet? Then come to an online Meet & Greet. This step isn't mandatory, but we warmly recommend it. It's the best way to get a feel for whether the programme is really right for you. Many students tell us the Meet & Greet gave them more confidence to get started.

What can you expect?
  • A short (mini) lecture – get a taste of the content and the level.
  • A fun interactive workshop or mini assignment with other prospective students.
  • Meet lecturers and a current student (ask them anything!).
  • Practical information about the programme, projects and the first year.

Check the application procedure of your degree programme

Degree programmes with a selection procedure

Four programmes at BUas use a selection procedure instead of the study choice activities. These programmes have a limited number of places. For these programmes, you must apply before 1 May. This is a requirement.

The procedure differs per degree programme. It may include an assignment, a portfolio, an online assessment, an interview or a selection day on campus. We mainly look at your motivation, as well as certain skills. Check the exact steps, criteria and dates on your degree programme's page:
