Application procedure

Built Environment

Do you have a diploma from a Dutch education institution (diplomas from the ABC- & SSS Islands not included)? Please follow the application procedure for Dutch students.

International students

If you fulfil the requirements and you complete step 1 (Apply via Studielink) by 1 May at the latest, you will certainly be able to start your studies. If you apply via Studielink after 1 May but at least before 31 August, Breda University of Applied Sciences will decide whether or not you will be admitted to the programme.

For our non-EU applicants; please note that 1 May is a strict deadline. Applications after this date will not be taken into consideration.

Application steps

For students with a diploma from a non-Dutch educational institution (educational institutions from the ABC- & SSS Islands included) the application process consists of four steps:

Step 1: Enter your enrolment application in Studielink

You are to enrol via Studielink, the application and enrolment portal for higher education programmes in the Netherlands.

You can track the status of your application on your personal Studielink page and in the progress overview in My Online Application.

Step 2: Apply via My Online Application

Once you have submitted your Studielink enrolment application, you will receive an email inviting you to follow up on your Studielink application by applying in My Online Application.

In My Online Application you will be requested to answer additional questions (e.g. about your English proficiency) and to upload your application documents:

  • Curriculum vitae (resume)
  • ID / Passport
  • Secondary school diploma including list of grades and translation (if these documents are not in one of the following languages: English, French, German or Dutch) or your most recent list of grades if you have not yet obtained your diploma.

To double-check if you have chosen a study that suits you, you will also be requested to fill out a Study choice questionnaire.

You can track the status of your admission in My Online Application.

Step 3: Your Study choice questionnaire will be assessed - Study Choice Activity (Studiekeuzecheck)

Choosing the right bachelor’s programme increases your chances of successfully completing your studies. We will help you to find out whether the programme you have applied for is a good match. Study choice activities are mandatory for all applicants who apply to a Dutch bachelor’s programme without selection.

Completing these activities is mandatory, but the outcome does not influence your admission to the programme. A positive outcome can be taken as a good sign. Otherwise we would strongly advise you to obtain even more information about the degree programme you applied for and to explore possible alternatives.

Once the educational and language requirements have been checked and (conditionally) approved, the answers on your Study choice questionnaire will be assessed. Your personal Study choice advice will be included in your Admission email.

Step 4: Complete your enrolment; payment of tuition fee

In order to complete your enrolment, you need to confirm your digital authorisation or pay your tuition fee. More information about payment of tuition fee.

We will keep in touch

During the entire application and enrolment procedure, Breda University of Applied Sciences will keep in touch with you via email. Please make sure you read and respond to the instructions in time.
