International students
Please add these dates to your calendar:
- Apply in Studielink between 1 October and 1 May
The earlier you apply, the sooner you will get clarity, and the more time you will have to prepare for your studies (and your move, if needed). If you meet the admission requirements and complete all the necessary steps on time, you can start your studies in September. - EU applicants only: applying after 1 May
If you apply after 1 May but before 31 August, BUas will assess whether you can still be admitted. In most cases, you can still join if you meet the requirements. However, the advice you received based on your study choice activity will be binding, and you may need to complete some steps more quickly. - Non-EU applicants: 1 May is a strict deadline
If you are a non-EU applicant, you must apply via Studielink before or on 1 May at the latest. Applications received after this date will not be considered, due to visa processing requirements. - Finalise your enrolment well before 31 August
Upload all the necessary documents and arrange your tuition fee payment as early as you can. Although 31 August is the final deadline, completing your enrolment sooner gives you peace of mind – you will know much earlier that everything is sorted and ready to go.
Please note: You will need a DigiD (digital identification for Dutch public services) or Studielink username to apply. Make sure you request your DigiD in good time, as it may take a few working days to activate.
Application steps
- Step 1: Submit your application via Studielink
You are required to apply via Studielink, the platform for enrolment in higher education in the Netherlands.
You will need:
- Your DigiD or Studielink username and password
- Your personal details (as shown on your passport or ID)
- Choose your programme and choose the correct language track (English)
After submitting your application:
- You can track your status in Studielink and in My Online Application
- BUas will email you about the next steps – check your spam folder too
- Step 2: Apply via My Online Application
After submitting your application in Studielink, you will receive an email inviting you to complete your application in My Online Application.
In My Online Application, you will be asked to answer additional questions (e.g., about your English proficiency) and upload the following documents:
- Curriculum vitae (resume)
- ID / passport
- Secondary school diploma including list of grades and translation (if these documents are not in one of the following languages: English, French, German or Dutch).
- If you have not graduated yet: please upload your most recent list of grades and translation (if these documents are not in: English, French, German or Dutch)
Tip: Try to submit everything within three weeks of applying – and definitely before the deadline. It will take about 30 minutes. You can track your application status in My Online Application.
- Step 3: Study choice check (Meet & Greet)
To help you prepare for your studies, you will complete two short activities:
- Watch the BUas Story of your study programme and answer a few questions in My Online Application. This step is mandatory and helps us understand your motivation and expectations.
- Join an online Meet & Greet session with a BUas lecturer and a group of other prospective students.
While this session is not mandatory, it is strongly recommended. It is a great opportunity to ask any remaining questions, connect with others, and get a feel for the programme and student life at BUas.
No worries – it is not a test. Many students say that attending the Meet & Greet helped them feel more confident and excited to start.
- Step 4: Complete your enrolment; tuition fee payment
In order to complete your enrolment, you need to either confirm your digital authorisation or pay your tuition fee. You can find more information about the payment of the tuition fee here. This will be possible from May onwards. You will receive an e-mail requesting that you enter your payment details via your ‘To do’ list in Studielink.
We will stay in touch
Throughout the application and selection process, Breda University of Applied Sciences will communicate with you via email. Please keep an eye on your inbox and (and your spam folder), and make sure you read and respond to any instructions.
