I-DEMO
I-DEMO (Improving DEstination Management Offer) is an initiative that equips EU tourism professionals with game-based tools to boost creativity, digital and entrepreneurial skills, and transform tourism through gamification and inclusion.
What is the goal of this research?
The goal of I-DEMO is to empower EU tourism professionals and vocational education and training (VET) students by equipping them with essential skills in game-based tourism. Through the development of an innovative online course, a practical toolkit, and a curated collection of best practices, I-DEMO fosters creativity, digital fluency, and entrepreneurial thinking. This initiative aims to enhance the capacity of Destination Management Organizations (DMOs) to design engaging, inclusive, and innovative tourism experiences using gamification strategies.
By promoting the adoption and replication of game-based solutions across Europe, I-DEMO contributes to the modernization and competitiveness of the tourism sector. It supports professionals in integrating playful, interactive elements into tourism services, ultimately improving organizational performance and visitor engagement.
