Europe's H&ART Incubator is open and BUas is part of it
BUas is part of KreativEU, an alliance of eleven universities across Europe working together on shared challenges in education, research and creativity. One of KreativEU's goals is a European incubator for art, cultural heritage and the creative industries — and on 30 June 2026, that incubator officially opened its doors. The H&ART Incubator gives artists, creators and entrepreneurs a space to develop early ideas into real projects, and its first participants have now been welcomed on board, including students, artists, researchers and entrepreneurs from across the alliance.
An incubator for art, heritage and creativity
The H&ART Incubator offers a safe space to experiment, learn and grow, combining local roots with European connections. It's open to a wide range of people: students with a creative idea, emerging artists, creative professionals and makers, researchers and developers, and interdisciplinary teams working across art, heritage, technology and design. Whether someone is starting from scratch or already has a project underway, they get access to shared spaces, resources, mentoring and expertise from across the whole KreativEU network — including training, mobility opportunities and artistic residencies.
What sets it apart is its European scope. Because it operates across all eleven partner countries, participants aren't limited to their own country's network or expertise. The Incubator is also firmly rooted in culture and heritage as sources of innovation, rather than treating them as a side interest, and because it's embedded within universities, it stays closely connected to research and education. Support runs the full length of an idea's journey, from early incubation through to residencies, and the whole programme is kept grounded by ongoing research into the creative and cultural sectors across Europe.
Marking the moment
To mark the launch, representatives from all eleven partner universities signed a joint declaration confirming their support for the Incubator — a small but symbolic gesture reflecting the shared ambition behind it.
BUas's role
Among the first participants is one incubatee admitted via BUas, supported by four BUas mentors who bring their expertise to the wider network.
