BUas student game Atan wins prestigious BAFTA student award

In an incredible achievement, Atan — a student game developed by a talented team from Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUas) — has won the BAFTA Student Award in the Games category! The award was announced during the ceremony on 13 June, placing Atan at the very top of an international field of student-created games.

The winning team crafted an action-adventure game that captured the attention of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA), a globally recognised independent arts charity known for celebrating excellence in film, TV, and games.

In Atan, players climb and traverse a massive, living colossus using anchors and a bow, uncovering a heartfelt story of a child who lives on the back of this ancient being. The game's immersive world and innovative gameplay clearly resonated with the jury, earning it one of the most respected awards in student game development.

This victory is a major milestone for the Atan team and a proud moment for BUas, once again proving its place as a leading hub for creative talent in the global games industry. It is the second time a BUas student game has reached the BAFTA finals, standing out among thousands of entries from around the world. Congratulations to the Atan team on this remarkable and well-deserved achievement.
