About this job

As an Equipment Desk Instructor (0.8-1 FTE) at the Academy for AI, Games & Media (AGM) you will run the equipment desk within Media & Games at Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUas), keeping day-to-day operations running smoothly. Your responsibilities include checking, testing and maintaining a wide range of AV equipment – cameras, recorders, gimbals, lights and peripherals, controllers, VR headsets, laptops and screens – as well as troubleshooting and repairing equipment whenever possible. You will also manage requests, reservations and inventory through TopDesk, and research new equipment that could strengthen Media & Games’ learning activities.

Beyond the desk itself, you will facilitate workshops and practice sessions on both basic and advanced media equipment. You will provide maintenance and technical support for the TV studio, manage its booking system via Microsoft Bookings, and maintain and support the AV suites and recording booths. From technical software workshops on tools such as colour grading, compositing and production pipelines, to making sure the right equipment is available at the right time: you are the hands-on go-to person for it all. You will coordinate closely with teaching staff to align equipment use with the curriculum, planning and communicating in advance to ensure availability when it's needed most. You are also the point of contact for various programmes and stakeholders within the academy, introducing them to the equipment desk's rules, regulations, schedules, availability and limitations. On top of this, you will manage and maintain the programme's server infrastructure, including Perforce version control and CI/CD pipelines that support students' project workflows.
