Why work at BUas?
Small-scale, international, specialist and personal
Working at Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUas) means being part of a small-scale, specialist and international institute of higher education and research. The development of both our students and our staff is central to our mission. Discover below what makes working at BUas so special.

International
We are an international institute where students not only acquire essential knowledge but also develop the skills needed to thrive in a global world. In this respect, collaboration and engagement with international industry is crucial. Around 30% of our students and staff are international; as an inclusive community, we choose to use English as the language of instruction. BUas is a place where everyone, regardless of their backgrounds, can learn, work, research and perform together.
Working at BUas+
BUas wants to be more than a university of applied sciences; together, we strive for a ‘plus’. Not only in education, research and cooperation, but also in the development of our students. At BUas, students develop Skills for Life, and we lead by example. With self-organising teams, flexible education, facilitative leadership, BUas-wide cooperation, and a culture of learning from mistakes, you will develop yourself every day to help students grow further.

Staff development
Developing our own ‘plus’ is also key. This involves commitment to lifelong learning and sustainable employability. Thanks to professionalisation hours, sustainable employability hours, career coaching, and development interviews, you – as a BUas staff member – will continue to prioritise your growth. Whether it is in your ambition, career, well-being, or job satisfaction, you will keep evolving. This ensures that, even after several years, you will continue to work at our institute with enthusiasm and dedication.
