Support services
To facilitate education, various support services ensure that everything runs smoothly. In this way, they contribute to the quality of our education and research. Together we work on the development of BUas, on our campus close to the city centre of Breda.
Working in the support services of BUas means making a continuous contribution to our mission of ‘empowering young professionals on their journey to shape a better world’. Below you can find an overview of the various support services.
- People & Organisation (P&O)
People & Organisation (P&O) is the service that arranges the essentials around human resources for all 800 employees. P&O supports and advises directors and managers in their personnel responsibilities. It is actively committed to being a good employer, strategy implementation, and anticipating the future. By facilitating personal and professional development, we strengthen our employees and make the most of the potential present within our institute.
P&O consists of three sub-teams: People Services, People Development, and Strategy & Organisation. Together, they work on maintaining a pleasant working environment, enabling management and employees to cope with society’s continuous changes and demands. This is reflected in various policy documents, ongoing professional development, improving employee well-being, and the (financial) handling of, for instance, salaries and sick leave arrangements. P&O is a team that is genuinely interested in their colleagues and has employee satisfaction high on its list of priorities.
- The Executive Board (CvB)
The Executive Board (CvB) is the competent authority of BUas and is responsible for strategic policy and operations. In addition, the CvB coordinates management and day-to-day operations. The board consists of two members, supported by two secretaries.
- Finance, Control & Student Services (FC&S)
Finance, Control & Student Services (FC&S) is the service that operates across BUas as a whole and aims to provide clear and reliable financial insights and (strategic) advice to support the achievement of the BUas ambition. FC&S also has teams that provide financial-administrative related services, such as Project Support, Procurement & Contract Management, and Student Office.
- Marketing, Communication & Student-community (MC&S
Marketing, Communication & Student-community (MC&S) is all about good student recruitment, facilitating effective internal communication, and working on BUas' international reputation. Promoting a sense of connection within the entire BUas community is also an important part of their core activities. MC&S focuses not only on current and prospective students; the business community, society, alumni, BUas employees and the press are also important communication target groups.
The MC&S service consists of five sub-teams: Domain Marketing, External & Internal Communication, Marketing Data & Platforms, Marketing Recruitment, and Student Community. In our team, we have in-house content creators such as a graphic designer, an audiovisual team, and translators. We carry out audience marketing, content marketing, and online engagement through websites, email marketing, print and social media. What makes working at MC&S fun and challenging is, of course, its professional and friendly team where everyone's personal qualities and talents are paramount.
Together, we strive to achieve our common goals, with plenty of room for independence and personal input. Within our team, we strive to be current and progressive and always look for the best way to strengthen BUas and the BUas community.
- Education, Research & Information Management (ER&IM)
Education, Research & Information Management (ER&IM) is a broad support service. Its various teams contribute to ensuring high-quality education and research, the smooth running of all daily processes, and the maintenance of our beautiful campus. Strategy and Policy, Well-Being, Exam Centre, Library, IT, Legal, Planning, Janitors, Back and Front Office are all part of ER&IM. - Innovation Square
A strong connection with key industry partners and innovative strength are essential for providing high-quality education. That is why BUas encourages creativity, innovative thinking, and interaction with the field in many ways. One such initiative is Innovation Square, where students, lecturers and researchers are encouraged to explore new opportunities and collaborate with the professional field. The strength of this concept lies in bringing in innovative and creative entrepreneurs. Innovation Square is the place where events are organised, where BUas Startup Support is situated, where you can meet, work, and share knowledge and experiences.
