During his visit, attention will be paid to current higher education topics, but specifically to sustainable tourism and transport - one of BUas' many areas of expertise. Pieter Elbers, president and CEO of KLM, will be another keynote speaker that morning.

Also present at the opening will be Maurice Limmen, president of the Netherlands Association of Universities of Applied Sciences. During a panel discussion, the speakers will talk to BUas students and staff about national and international challenges in the field of sustainable tourism and transport.

That same afternoon, Minister Dijkgraaf will perform the opening of the Dutch academic year, also in the south of the Netherlands.
