Double win for BUas graduate Jip Tissink at Filmfestival Deurne.

At Filmfestival Deurne De Nacht van het Witte Doek, the Film Talent Awards Brabant (FTAB) were presented, and it turned out to be a memorable evening for Breda University of Applied Sciences alumna Jip Tissink. Her graduation documentary ‘Ga maar vliegen’ was nominated for the Documentary Award and ended up winning not one, but two prizes: the Audience Award and the Jury Award.

  • About BUas

Jip looks back with pride: “My graduation project was a deeply personal documentary. I already had the idea to make something about my father and paragliding. As part of the assignment, we had to collaborate with a company, and that’s how I connected with the EvE Foundation, which supports young people who have lost one or both parents. Over eight months, I explored the stories of loved ones affected by loss, including my own experience of losing my father when I was nearly four. The documentary became both a tribute to him and a reflection on grief and remembrance.”

The documentary will soon be screened in several film houses across Noord-Brabant, more details will follow shortly.

For now, we celebrate this wonderful achievement: congratulations to Jip for turning her personal story into an award-winning documentary that touches audiences and professionals alike!
