Kick-off for entrepreneurial graduates
On 19 February, a joint kick-off took place for BUas graduates who are starting their own business, with guidance and networking opportunities to promote success. BUas Student Support (BUSS) organised this joint kick-off for all students who are graduating within their own company. This may include, for example, research into a target audience or a feasibility study.
- About BUas
Participants were graduates from all study domains who are due to graduate between January and July. In addition to supervision from their own programme, they can also get an entrepreneurial coach to bounce ideas off. This kick-off showed what coaches can add to graduating within one's own company, beyond writing a thesis. We offer extra guidance to help students make their business or idea a success, so that they may continue with it immediately after graduation.
We also wanted students to get in touch with each other so they can call on each other for help, which can benefit the further development of their business. For example, by making use of the expertise of students from other domains or their network.
During the kick-off, the students pitched themselves and their idea or company to each other, quickly forming connections. BUas provides workspaces at the Innovation Square and organises meetings where they explain how to secure funding. Additionally, these entrepreneurial students have the opportunity to join the NAC Young Business Club through BUSS. Every month, there is an informal gathering with drinks in the Lighthouse on our campus. In May, they will also receive a pitch workshop from an external partner to improve their business pitch and prepare for their graduation defence.
