Aivancity and BUas join forces to train responsible AI experts

In a period when the challenges of artificial intelligence and data science are emerging as strategic priorities on a global scale, aivancity School of AI & Data for Business & Society and Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUas) have entered into a major academic partnership.

This partnership aims to strengthen the training of European talent through the creation of a ‘4+1’ learning pathway, enabling BUas students to complete their first four years of study in the Netherlands, before joining one of the Masters of Science offered by aivancity in the fifth year:

  1. MSc in Data Engineering & Cloud Computing or
  2. MSc in Artificial Intelligence Engineering

A programme built around shared values

This programme is part of a shared commitment to:

  • promote the cross-fertilisation of technical, business and ethical skills
  • develop useful and responsible AI, serving economic and social issues
  • encourage the co-construction of innovative, high-impact projects
  • offer professional certifications (AWS, Azure, Kafka, etc.) at every stage of the course

An international, professionalising and certifying framework

Students will benefit from:

  • an international academic environment
  • annual certifications on major cloud and data technologies
  • opportunity to complete an MSc programme in five years
  • direct admission to the second year of an MSc programme for eligible BUas students

Ambitious cooperation in research, mobility and innovation

In addition to the training component, the partnership includes: 

  • student and teaching staff exchanges, with transfer of credits
  • co-supervision of AI and data research projects
  • organisation of joint events on AI-related ethical issues
  • close cooperation with the Dutch academic and industrial ecosystems

Through this strategic partnership, aivancity and BUas affirm their ambition to nurture a new generation of European talent capable of driving technological innovation with rigour, responsibility, and impact.
