The partners, all small-scale and based in historic cities, will jointly implement an ambitious yet inclusive vision for transforming the study of culture, identity, memory, and heritage for the benefit of society. The alliance is committed to creating innovative educational and research programmes that rethink these elements and their ecological surroundings, especially in the digital age.
This ecocultural vision serves as the foundational principle guiding KreativEU's efforts, ensuring that its initiatives not only embrace cultural and ecological interconnectedness but also leverage digital advancements to enhance the accessibility, dissemination, and understanding of cultural heritage.
The concept will foster a strong sense of shared purpose between the KreativEU members, as it provides a bridge to intensified collaboration beyond the social sciences and humanities with researchers across our higher education institutions dealing with key global challenges such as climate mitigation, CO₂ sequestration, biodiversity loss, ageing population, and the spread of zoonotic diseases.
Joint education and research are made possible by a grant from the Erasmus+ programme.

It’s a great opportunity to bring more focus to our internationalisation activities
‘We officially kicked off in January 2025 and can’t wait to work with KreativEU partners and beyond on Work Packages covering topics like AI and Sustainability. It’s a great opportunity to bring more focus to our internationalisation activities on key social issues. Within the framework of KreativEU, we’ll be organising joint education programmes, summer schools, conferences, student festivals, and more!’
