You are a specialist in Supply Chain Analytics and would like to share your knowledge with others. Working as a lecturer/researcher for 0.8-1 FTE at the Academy for Built Environment & Logistics (ABEL) of Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUas) gives you this opportunity. You will teach, supervise and develop course materials for our master programme Supply Chain Management and our bachelor programme Logistics Engineering. No better place to do all this than at our green, sustainable campus and specialist, small-scale institute in Breda.

About this job

As a lecturer/researcher (0.8-1 FTE) in supply chain analytics your teaching assignments will be for the master programme Supply Chain Management and the bachelor programme Logistics Engineering of the Academy for Built Environment & Logistics (ABEL), where you will be responsible for (parts of) the curriculum. In a tight-knit team of co-lecturers and researchers, you will continuously develop and innovate both programmes. You will supervise and coach students e.g. with their master and/or bachelor thesis. Topics you may be asked to teach in the broad field of supply chain analytics/modelling and business intelligence are operations research techniques, data-science, R- and/or Python programming, artificial intelligence, information management, and possibly includes operations and supply chain management.

Our way of teaching consists of an interaction between theory and practice, requiring a flexible teaching approach. In some cases, students may need more theoretical lectures, and at other times, you provide students with case studies as a way of learning. In our way of teaching we also learn new things every day. Given the international nature of our European applied R&D university, most lectures are taught in English. Besides lecturing, you will conduct applied research that is closely linked to education and society. Research projects in cooperation with industry enable us to maintain a state-of-the-art curriculum and a leading position in education, while preserving our strong relations with industry. Topics that are currently part of our research agenda include sustainable last-mile logistics, resilient supply chains, and digital transformation in organisations and supply chains.

You will be constantly striving to improve our programmes, by connecting professional field, state-of-the-art research and educational excellence. Together, we bring a positive can-do attitude and sense of humour to educate, motivate, and convey our passion to the approximately 350 bachelor students and 30 master students that we teach each year. The Academy for Built Environment & Logistics (ABEL) is one of the five academies at BUas. For more information visit www.buas.nl/en.
