AT Teaching Assistant (fulltime)

Are you ready to rebalance society by integrating tourism into the fabric of life? Do you want to use your international experience in travel and tourism to help transform the new changemakers of the future? Are you well-versed in feedback and feedforward and would love to guide the students at the Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUas) Academy for Tourism (AT)? Then this is the job for you!

About this job

As a teaching assistant at the Academy for Tourism (AT) you will assist lecturers with executing the programme and guiding students on their educational journey. While lecturers provide the content, your mission is to ignite inspiration through creative and innovative ideas for projects, assignments and tools. Together, we aim to cultivate conscious, creative human skills, empowering today’s students to become the change- makers of tomorrow’s dynamic tourism industry.

You will be part of the Theme Teams who are currently working on changing and reinventing our academy as a vibrant hub for experimentation, research and business development, where students and companies work together in a challenge-based learning (CBL) reality. Our new curriculum and porfolio draw from knowledge on sustainable transformation, the leisure economy, digital experiences and business model innovation. Key themes include Travel Experience Design, Destination Development, Travel Mobility, and Tourism Hospitality.

Your primary mission is to support the development of students across year 1 in our bachelor’s programme. Your multifaceted role involves coordinating with the team to monitor student progress and project groups, co-creating course content, facilitating workshops, and providing constructive feedback and feedforward to students. Additionally, you will support the lecturing team in data collection and project assessments. Your enthusiasm for personal growth and coaching shines through as you keenly observe group dynamics, address individual learning needs, and motivate students to proactively engage in, and take responsibility for, their own learning journey.

Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUas) believes in an interconnected world which is ever changing. Within this dynamic, international environment we empower young professionals on their journey to shape a better world. Students, lecturers and researchers work together in our national and international learning communities on meaningful knowledge, research and projects alongside global industry professionals. The organisation is characterised by an informal culture, and we operate on a team-based working principle where responsibilities and authority are assigned to the various teams.
