AI Student Assistant

As an AI Student Assistant (0.07 FTE – approximately three hours a week), you will join the Community for Teaching and Learning (CTL) / AI team and serve as the go-to person across the institute for fellow students with everyday questions about AI tools and the Claude licences available at BUas. CTL is the central hub for professional development, educational innovation and staff collaboration at BUas. It connects people, ideas and resources to enhance education. At the moment, it is building a Community of Practice for Claude Ambassadors and we are looking for one student per domain to be part of this process.

In this role, you will be the first point of contact for AI related questions within your academy. You are available in person or via chat, represent the student perspective of your domain in a monthly meeting, and stay informed of new AI development and updates as they are shared by the CTL / AI team.

Being available will be your main task: we estimate roughly three hours per week, plus one monthly meeting. There are no formal support hours, desk duties, or open day commitments. Presence and availability within your academy are the core commitments.

• The salary for this position amounts to a monthly minimum of €2,770.87 and a monthly maximum of €2,998,07 (gross amounts based on full-time employment depending on your year of study);
• Your official job title will be student assistant;
• The position is a temporary position of three hours (0.07 FTE) per week, until 31 July 2027;
• You will receive €25 compensation towards health insurance, based on full-time employment;
• You will receive an end-of-year bonus of 8.3% and an 8% holiday allowance;
• You will receive training to help you understand and navigate the Claude environment available at BUas;
• You will have a seat in the Community of Practice, regular contact with the CTL/ AI team and fellow student assistants across all domains;
• A meaningful, CV-worthy experience that showcases your peer leadership and digital fluency.

• You are a BUas student with a genuine curiosity about AI tools;
• You are an EU/EEA or Swiss national, allowing you to work in the Netherlands without a work permit;
• You have strong communication skills and are comfortable having informal conversations and flagging things when they come up;
• You are proactive, reliable, and display an approachable attitude towards your fellow students;
• You will be working in an international and intercultural setting. Therefore, having excellent Dutch and English speaking and writing skills is necessary, as you will interact with both national and international students and colleagues.
