Student Ambassadors wanted!

Become a student ambassador (Dutch- or English-speaking) and represent BUas!

As a student ambassador, you’ll play a key role in helping prospective students (in Dutch: studiekiezers) by sharing your own experiences.

Your work will contribute to the goals of the Marketing, Communication & Student-community (MC&S) office of BUas, particularly the Marketing Recruitment team. Your point of contact will be the Student Ambassador Coordinator.

Job description:

Nederlandssprekende ambassadors

International ambassadors

Each year, around 10 to 15 international students join our ambassador team at BUas. As an international student ambassador, your tasks consist of the following:

  • You will work during open days where you will help prospective students with their study choice.
  • You will most likely become a Unibuddy. This is a chat system we have on our website where prospective students can chat with current students, sometimes even in their own language.
  • Help create social media content for BUas and take part in photoshoots and videos.
  • We host our own webinars called Digital Discovery Days, which is our online version of the open day. You may be asked to present or assist in the chat. You might also participate in international recruitment webinars, sometimes held in your own native language.
  • You will give campus tours to prospective students, industry partners and visiting groups.
  • You will assist during group visits of prospective students by giving presentations, Q&As and workshops.
  • You may be asked to join one of our colleagues at an international fair which could be in your home country.
  • You may help during join-a-student, orientation or matching days. We will train you so you get to know all BUas study programme.
  • There are also occasional extra assignments, such as assisting during graduation ceremonies, conferences, or other events. These activities are optional — you can choose whether to take part.

What we expect from you:

  • You are regularly available:
    • Assignments usually take place during weekdays, mainly during the day and sometimes in the evening.
    • You can indicate your own availability, but we expect you to work at least twice a month. Some ambassadors work 4 hours a month, others 15 — this entirely depends on your availability and the tasks available.
    • October, November, February, and March are busier months.
    • We may ask you to work during the weekend during open days and fairs, but this is only a few times a year and communicated well in advance. This makes this job easy to combine with another side job.
  • An active, reliable, and responsible approach to teamwork.
  • Strong social and communication skills, so you’re able to confidently give presentations to groups and interact with prospective students and their parents.
  • Excellent proficiency in English, written and spoken.
  • Additionally, you must have or be able to take out Dutch health insurance to be eligible for this position. We have instructions available on how to apply and how to get health insurance benefit.
  • We prefer students who will be studying on the BUas campus for the entire academic year 2025–2026, but feel free to apply even if that’s not the case.

We offer you the following:

  • A gross hourly fee of €17.21 based on a zero-hour contract.
  • Training sessions to help you grow into a confident and skilled student ambassador.
  • Opportunities to expand your professional and personal network by working with various academies and connecting with student ambassadors from all study programmes.
  • A valuable learning experience that supports both personal and professional development — and makes a strong addition to your CV.
