Become a BUas Student Ambassador!

Apply before 20 April and start in September 2026!

Become a student ambassador (Dutch- or English-speaking) and represent BUas!

As a student ambassador, you’ll play a key role in helping prospective students (in Dutch: studiekiezers) by sharing your own BUas story.

Your work will contribute to the goals of the Marketing, Communication & Student-community (MC&S) office of BUas, particularly the Marketing Recruitment team. Your point of contact will be the Student Ambassador Coordinator.

Job description:

Nederlandssprekende ambassadors

International ambassadors

Each year, 10 to 15 international students join our ambassador team at BUas. Here's what you could be doing:

  • You work during open days and help prospective students with their study choice.
  • You become a Unibuddy which is a chat system on our website where prospective students can connect with current students, sometimes even in their own language.
  • You help create social media content for BUas and take part in photoshoots and videos.
  • You present or assist in the chat during our Digital Discovery Days, our online open day. You may also join international recruitment webinars, sometimes in your own native language.
  • You give campus tours to prospective students, industry partners and visiting groups.
  • You give presentations, Q&As and workshops during group visits of prospective students.
  • You may join one of our colleagues at an international fair, which could even be in your home country!
  • You help out during orientation or matching days.
  • Occasionally there are extra assignments, like assisting at graduation ceremonies or conferences.

What we expect from you:

  • You are regularly available:
    • Assignments usually take place during weekdays, mainly during the day and sometimes in the evening.
    • You indicate your own availability, but we expect you to work at least twice a month. Some ambassadors work 4 hours a month, others 15, it entirely depends on your availability and the tasks available. You will receive a 0-hour contract.
    • October, November, February and March are the busiest months.
    • We may ask you to work during the weekend for open days and fairs, but only a few times a year and always communicated well in advance, making this job easy to combine with another side job which is something a lot of ambassadors do.
  • You have an active, reliable and responsible attitude.
  • You have strong social and communication skills. You're able to confidently give presentations and interact with prospective students and their parents.
  • Presenting is an essential part of this role and cannot be avoided. You'll always receive the presentation and briefing in advance so you can prepare.
  • You have excellent proficiency in English, written and spoken.
  • You have a Dutch health insurance, or are willing to take it out before your start date.
    • We have instructions available on how to apply and how to get the healthcare allowance.
  • You are available on the BUas campus during semester 1 of 2026-2027 (September 2026 through January 2027).
    • Going on an internship or exchange in semester 1? Unfortunately you won't be able to apply right now, but you can sign up for our back-up list.
    • Leaving in semester 2? No problem, you're still welcome to apply!
  • This job is only available for full-time BUas students. It is not open to exchange students.

We offer you the following:

  • You'll earn €18.07 gross per hour on a flexible zero-hour contract.
  • Training sessions to help you grow into a confident and skilled ambassador. We won't just throw you in at the deep end!
  • The chance to expand your network by working with various academies, industry partners and student ambassadors from all study programmes.
  • A valuable experience that boosts both your personal and professional development, and looks great on your CV!
