Tourban

Accelerating the capacity and innovation of SMEs for sustainable urban tourism

Tourban

Tourban supports urban tourism SMEs in seven European cities (Amsterdam, Barcelona, Budapest, Copenhagen, Dubrovnik, Kiel, Tallinn) in their innovation processes to sustainable business models from an environmental, economic and social point of view.

The project enables selected SMEs to receive vouchers for technical assistance to provide them with skills needed to become catalysts for innovation and sustainability. SMEs can then reduce their costs, operate more sustainably and increase their revenue streams through improved visibility and positioning.

What do we intend to achieve specifically?

  1. Provide financial and business support to a minimum of 60 tourism SMEs through a 12-month acceleration programme.
  2. Share and exchange knowledge and good practices on models of tourism sustainability and circular economy in an urban context.
  3. Offer tourism SMEs the opportunity to participate in international networking events and initiate intersectoral and transnational collaborations.
  4. Support tourism SMEs in adopting best practices, including obtaining internationally recognised sustainability certificates and badges and the most advanced technologies.
  5. Leverage the capabilities and skills of tourism SMEs and other actors to develop innovative solutions that make them more sustainable and competitive.
  6. Lead a transnational and intersectoral movement towards the sustainability of tourism in urban areas throughout Europe.
