Study overview of the specialisation
You will be trained to join a new generation of innovative and strategic event professionals – experts who create meaningful events that add value to organisations, cities, regions, or even countries. You may take on roles such as project manager, marketer,(city) brand manager, concept designer, data analyst, or marketing and communication specialist. Are you creative, empathetic, hands-on, do you have good social skills, and are you eager to discover the business market together with fellow students and graduates? If so, this specialisation is definitely for you!
In the first year of the specialisation, we will focus entirely on the events model. The year is divided into different modules: Knowing the Industry, Check, Plan and Do. During these modules, you will go through all the processes involved in organising a strategic event step by step. In addition to these four modules, there are two modules that are taught throughout the year: Personal and Professional Development and English.
The second year of the specialisation is dedicated to your placement. The first half of the year is spent on an operational placement and the second half on a strategic placement. This combination can be organised in various ways.
- A full-year placement at one company
- An operational placement at one company and a strategic placement at another company
- You will spend half of the year on an exchange abroad and the other half of the year doing the operational or strategic placement; either option is possible.
In the final part of the programme, you will spend six months taking a minor at BUas or another educational institution. In the last six months, you will further develop your strategies in your graduation project, in which you will solve a management problem in Events for Business. You will graduate with a final exam, in which you will demonstrate that you are ready to become an Events for Business manager.
