National accreditation
The Higher Education and Research Act provides that the quality of registered study programmes in higher education is monitored by the Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO). Each study programme must be accredited again every six years. This means that study programmes are assessed by a panel of independent experts approved by NVAO. In this way, the quality of study programmes is and remains guaranteed.
Development discussion
A development discussion is part of the accreditation. The relevant department holds such a development discussion with accreditation panel representatives. It takes place after the site visit. Possible improvements are discussed during the site visit from a development perspective.
