Three years of war in Ukraine: BUas continues its support

On 24 February 2022, Russia began the invasion of Ukraine. For three years, Ukrainians have been fighting for their freedom and their lives. BUas has therefore hoisted the Ukrainian flag today as a token of support for its Ukrainian students. The yellow-blue cloth also hangs on government buildings. In this way, BUas and the Netherlands demonstrate their support for Ukraine and their continued commitment to aiding the war-ravaged country.

  • About BUas

In addition to raising the Ukrainian flag, HUB Radio, BUas' own radio station that is run seven days a week for students by students, will play a special freedom playlist with Ukrainian music all day long. There is also a podcast about the war, highlighting personal stories and other topics related to Ukraine .

During the day, Ukrainian students from BUas host a stand in the school sharing information and collecting donations for Zeilen van Vrijheid—the same charity BUas supported when the Ukrainian band Go_A performed in our chapel in May 2023. This foundation purchases ambulances and delivers them to Ukraine.

BUas is an international university of applied sciences where intercultural awareness, mutual respect and understanding have been high on the agenda for years and will remain so for many years to come. We help our students to become young professionals and want to make a meaningful contribution to a better world. BUas is clear about what this requires of its students and staff: an attitude of openness with respect for each other, curiosity, civic duty, optimism, an inquisitive attitude, and a drive to contribute to a better world. The primary basis for achieving this mission is a diverse and inclusive community with a fair, safe, transparent and sustainable environment where there is room for debate.
