BUas, LCB and Argaleo join forces for digital innovations

Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUas), Logistics Community Brabant (LCB) and Argaleo are entering into a long-term partnership to use digital technology to provide smart insights for mobility, logistics, tourism, events and urban planning. On 20 February 2025, BUas and Argaleo signed a framework agreement that will lay the foundation for four years of joint innovation and knowledge development.

  • About BUas

The partnership builds on previous joint initiatives, including the Digitale Atlas van de Leefbare Stad (Digital Atlas of the Liveable City). Within this Regio Deal innovation project, advanced digital models and data analysis techniques were used to help governments, businesses and social partners better understand urban dynamics and mobility flows. The new partnership will ensure that these technologies are further developed so that they can be applied even more widely in practice.

According to Jorrit Snijder, president of the Executive Board of BUas, this step is essential to connect research and innovation to current issues: ‘With the Digital Atlas, we are working together across the institute on contemporary innovations, fuelled by current issues and themes. By using Argaleo's information, circular knowledge sharing is initiated, ensuring future innovations and the development of new business models. Today's insights lead to tomorrow's decision-making.’

With digital twin technology and data-driven decision-making, BUas, LCB and Argaleo help policymakers and entrepreneurs tackle complex challenges in the areas of urban accessibility, sustainable logistics and spatial development. Jeroen Steenbakkers, director of Argaleo, emphasises the practical impact of this partnership: ‘This partnership bridges the gap between innovation and application. By making digital technologies practically deployable, we help policymakers and entrepreneurs implement concrete solutions to the mobility, logistics and urban challenges facing the Netherlands. As various provinces, regions and municipalities use Argaleo's digital platform, solutions are quickly and easily scalable and applicable. This is how we drive innovation and ensure it has a real impact.’

The partnership was officially confirmed on 20 February 2025 when Jorrit Snijder signed the framework agreement on behalf of BUas and Jeroen Steenbakkers signed on behalf of Argaleo.
