  • About BUas

“Jorrit Snijder is a very experienced and driven President who has played an important role in the successful development and strategy implementation of BUas over the past three years,” says Erwin van Lambaart, chairman of the Supervisory Board. “He is a connector and has a broad network in the sector and the BUas industries. With an eye for people, a big BUas heart and a vision of excellence in education and applied research in an international education field.”

Jorrit Snijder himself is delighted with the trust placed in him. “It is a great privilege to lead such a wonderful international university of applied sciences where student well-being is key, together with my fellow board member Ingrid Timmermans and the directors. We recently adopted an ambitious BUas+ plan for the coming years. I am very much looking forward to making sure that together we fully realise the initiated transitions of AI and climate education in our domains. So that students enter the working field with a strong and versatile skill set.”

Jorrit studied Public Administration at Leiden University (master’s degree), with an internship in Denmark (Aarhus University), and received his PhD in higher education policy studies from the University of Twente in 2016. Before joining BUas, Jorrit was executive director of University College Roosevelt since 2008. Before that, he worked at the NVAO and as a lecturer at Leiden University’s Campus The Hague. Jorrit Snijder is also, in addition to his BUas role, vice-chairman of the Economic Board West Brabant, chairman of Logistics Community Brabant and CELTH, and member of the strategic board of Visit-Brabant.
