How are our 2023 graduates doing today?
The HBO Monitor is an annual survey of recent graduates of Dutch Universities of Applied Sciences. It provides a detailed overview of the situation encountered by graduates after leaving education and entering the labour market, and of postgraduate life in general. It also sheds light on the extent to which HBO institutions adequately prepare students for the labour market.

The BUas response rate was 40%. Respondents were the alumni who graduated in the academic year of 2022–2023. Results show that most alumni are satisfied with their studies, their job, and would recommend the study programme to family and friends.
Highlights
On the programme level, the following is worth mentioning:
- Facility Management: 88% of the alumni are satisfied with their study.
- Logistics Engineering: 92% of alumni appreciate the good connection between their education and their current job.
- Creative Media and Game Technology: 86% of the alumni are working at a level that matches their education level and feel that there is a good connection between their education and their current job.
On a national level the HBO-Monitor 2024 reveals that over 90% of HBO graduates find a job within three months, with 70% securing permanent positions. Three-quarters of graduates work within 50 kilometers of where they followed their programme, highlighting the regional impact of HBO education.
