Transversal professorship Artificial Intelligence

With the launch of the transversal professorship of Artificial Intelligence in September 2024, BUas is taking a major step forward in AI research and innovation. This professorship bridges the gap between academic knowledge and practical applications. The aim is to conduct internationally leading research that is not only academic but, above all, socially relevant. By closely linking research to education and the needs of the professional field, responsible and sustainable AI solutions are created that add value to society and optimally prepare students for the future.

Leading the way is professor Carlos Pereira Santos. With his team, he works with various disciplines, both within and outside BUas, to create a culture of innovation that enables groundbreaking AI research. By collaborating with companies and governments, we develop AI applications that have real social value. Through partnerships with start-ups and entrepreneurs, we create an environment in which AI innovations can flourish and in which we work together on the solutions of tomorrow.
