Lecturers of English (0.6 - 1.0 FTE)

The Academy for Hotel & Facility (AFH) would like to educate/ groom/ prepare the next generation to design hospitality experiences, and to that spaces and buildings feel comfortable, productive and safe. 
 
The Academy for Leisure & Events (ALE) considers leisure as essential for the quality of life of individuals and society. Both academies believe that through their field of expertise sustainable and economic development can be achieved. 
The academies provide education to 2800 students.

Job profile
We are looking for Lecturers of English to give lectures and workshops on Academic Writing, APA style referencing and Rhetoric within both our programmes. You will be developing educational material and guiding students both individually and in groups. You will also be involved in coaching students working on multidisciplinary assignments and during their international placements. 
You will also be asked to provide language support to colleagues and students who require extra assistance.
 
Candidate profile

• You are enthusiastic about teaching, students and working with young people. You are eager to help them and want to deliver the most up-to-date professional lectures and workshops.
• You are keen to work in a diverse multinational environment where English is used as Lingua Franca.
• You have completed a master’s degree. A BKE qualification is an advantage or you are willing to complete this didactics course.
• You are familiar with modern educational views within higher education.
• You are familiar and have experience with IT and its application in education, using online learning and willing to contribute to further develop online education, and you are motivated to use these mediums intensively. 
• You are flexible, you have an eye for detail but also for the bigger picture.
• You take initiative yourself and you can work independently, where you proactively offer our students what they need.
• You are open to educational innovation and more than willing to contribute to a future-proof programme. 
• You have an interest in areas of Hotel & Facility Management or Leisure & Event Management or are willing to obtain a good understanding of what is needed for our students working in the international industry in those fields.

Salary & benefits
Breda University of Applied Sciences provides assistance to guide expatriate employees through the process of relocation and settling in. Dutch tax authorities may offer tax reduction to applicants from abroad (which makes tax rates comparable to the UK and US).

The salary for this position will be at level 11 of the CAO-HBO (Collective Labour Agreement) and amounts to between a monthly minimum of €3,560.72 and a monthly maximum of €4,892,31 (gross amounts based on full-time employment). You will be officially appointed to the position of Lecturer. You will receive a fixed annual end-of-year bonus of 8.3%. Apart from this, Breda University of Applied Sciences offers you an 8% holiday allowance and a contribution to your health insurance. In the case of a full-time position and a working pattern of 40 hours per week, you will be entitled to 10.7 weeks of holiday leave (including public holidays).
