If you do not meet the admission requirements but you are aged 21+, you may appeal to the 21+ arrangement (special entrance test). You have to be at least 21 when the programme starts. Based on the test, we will determine whether or not you are qualified for admission.
The 21+ arrangement means that you have to take part in the regular selection procedure for Hotel Management and take an additional capability test.
The 21+ arrangement consists of:
- Compiling a portfolio
- Capability test
- English proficiency test
A portfolio serves to demonstrate your potential. You describe your education, work experience and any additional information that has been important in your choice for this particular programme. The portfolio will be discussed in the interview.
Please mind you are required to show written evidence of sufficient proficiency of a second modern foreign language. If you don’t have proficiency in a second language, you will have until 1 July to eliminate this deficiency by enrolling in a language course elsewhere, for example Goethe Institure (German), Alliance Française (French), Cervantes Institute (Spanish) or Babel languages.
Requirements are: French B1, German B1, Spanish A2
2. and 3. Capability and English proficiency test
You will do a computer-based capability test and English proficiency test. The capability test measures your mathematical and linguistic skills as well as your spatial aptitude. Its outcome will help us determine whether you are able to handle the academic demands of a study programme at higher professional education level.
The results of the capability test and the result of the English test will determine whether or not you will be invited for an interview. This means you will have to obtain a sufficient grade for both the English test and the capability test, in order for you to be invited for a final interview. If you do not meet the minimum requirements (5.5 out of 9 for the capability test and 65 (equivalent of B2) out of 100 for the English test, the 21+ arrangement will stop after taking these tests.
Your portfolio and test results will be discussed during the interview. This is your opportunity to talk about your choices and motivation.
During the interview, be prepared to discuss/ demonstrate:
- that you have thoroughly informed yourself of this programme and that you have made a well-considered choice;
- your oral fluency in English;
- why you think you will be able to complete the programme successfully even though you don’t have the requested qualifications.
The admission fee for the 21+ arrangement (English proficiency test and capability test) is € 125.
