# Placement Supervisor

## About this job

As a Placement Supervisor (0.1-0.2 FTE) at the Academy for Built Environment &amp; Logistics (ABEL) at Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUas), you will guide a group of three to six students during their work placement (from September to January, with second opportunities for the final presentation in March). This involves around 16 hours per student, spread across three return days, one company visit, and a final presentation. Return days are held in small groups – on campus or at another location that suits the group. For international placements, supervision takes place online.  
  
Students will be involved in projects of the company and/or their own research project. You will meet regularly with the students, support them in their professional development, and complete their assessment forms together with a second assessor. You will also be in contact with the companies and supervisors where the students are based. Beyond that, you will organise your own schedule which makes this role easy to combine with other work.



## What do we ask of you?

- You have demonstrable work experience in the built environment (spatial planning, urban design and/or urban planning);
- You preferably have experience in coaching and the ability to guide students in their personal and professional development;
- You have good communication skills and are comfortable working with different stakeholders;
- You have an autonomous and self-directed way of working;
- You will be working in an international and intercultural setting. Therefore, having excellent Dutch and English speaking and writing skills is preferred, as you will interact with both national and international colleagues and stakeholder across the organisation and beyond. We can also accommodate supervisors who prefer to work in one language only.



## What do we ask of you?

A flexible, autonomous role that keeps you connected to education and the professional field. You will never work alone – a second assessor will join you in assessing the final presentation and the placement coordinator is available for support during the placement period.

- The salary for this position amounts to a monthly minimum of €4,632.17 and a monthly maximum of €6,677.44 (gross amounts based on full-time employment);
- This position is classified in scale 11 of the cao-hbo (collective labour agreement). Your official job title will be Lecturer/researcher;
- This job involves a temporary position, which means you will be appointed for a period of six months. Secondment is possible;
- Your commuting expenses will be fully reimbursed when you travel by public transport;
- You will receive a contribution towards your health insurance costs;
- You will receive an end-of-year bonus of 8.3% in December and an annual holiday allowance of 8% in May;
- You will also be awarded professional development hours every year and almost 11 weeks of holiday entitlements in a full-time position;
- You have the option to work partly from home, which can help improve your work-life balance;
- You will build an attractive pension through the ABP pension fund;
