The InnovaT project was created to enhance innovation in teaching and learning approaches fostering modernisation in Higher Education Institutions in Chile and Peru.
Advances in technology are opening-up new learning opportunities, having an impact on the conventional concept of teaching and learning. The roles of teachers, students and universities are also being transformed worldwide.
Therefore, it is crucial that teaching methods and learning experiences in higher education are dynamic and continuously incorporate innovative approaches as well as integrate new technologies in order to be prepared for the way the students learn nowadays and for the future demand coming. InnovaT project was created to enhance innovation in teaching & learning experiences fostering modernisation in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Chile and Peru, by providing teachers and students with the relevant skills necessary to incorporate new approaches and technologies complying with the quality demanded.
The main objectives of the project are:
To strengthen teaching staff capacities in innovative teaching & learning methods and digital skills by offering trainings in a blended model, combining face to face teacher trainings with MOOCs and e-learning;
To introduce new technologies and ways of producing learning content by modernising technical infrastructure of LA HEIs – creating, equipping and putting in operation the InnovaT offices;
To enhance the cooperation and learning experience between Higher Education-Enterprise-Students by developing Pilot Classes with projects with entrepreneurs, while applying the innovative methods and preparing the students for innovative thinking in “real life” contexts;
To promote greater access to high quality educational materials in the topic of teaching and learning methods, providing Open Educational Resources and a MOOC to the regional and international community;
To extend networks in teaching and learning innovation in national and international higher education contexts by organising the InnovaT International E-Conference.
