**The main objective of the project is to develop policies for Norway’s future tourism sector in response to the global climate crisis. The project aims to create a model for a tourism sector that is both resilient to climate challenges and capable of achieving high yields while maintaining low emissions.**

### What was the goal of this research?

The research aims to describe and propose policies that will transform Norway’s tourism sector into a more resilient, low-emission, and high-yield industry. This transformation is essential for addressing the climate crisis and involves significant emission reductions across all sectors, including tourism.

### What method was employed?

The project involves analysing the current state of Norway’s tourism sector, which is characterised by high energy consumption and significant transport-related emissions. It seeks to identify policies and strategies that will enable the sector to adapt to climate challenges, reduce its carbon footprint, and improve its overall efficiency and profitability.

### What findings did we uncover?

The findings highlight the need for a deep transition within Norwegian society, including substantial emission reductions across all sectors, with a particular focus on the tourism industry. The project outlines strategies for making the tourism sector more resilient to climate crises, reducing its emissions, and ensuring it remains a high-yield sector.

### What is the timeline of this project?
