An equivalent of the Dutch diplomas of **higher general secondary education** (havo) or **pre-university education** (vwo) is generally required to enrol on a study programme at Breda University of Applied Sciences.

Please, find your level of education in the list of [non-Dutch diplomas compared with the Dutch educational system.](https://www.buas.nl/documents/comparable-eductions.pdf) This list is not complete, if your diploma is not in this list **we advise you to apply**.

After having received your application, we will inform you if you meet the educational requirements. If there is any doubt, we will have **your diploma evaluated by Nuffic** (the Netherlands Organization for International Cooperation in Higher Education) for advice.

You will also be required to demonstrate **sufficient results on one of these tests**:

- **Cambridge English Qualification:** B2 First, C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency). Minimum score of 169 (overall and speaking)
- **IELTS Academic:** Minimum score of 6.0 (overall and speaking)
- **TOEFL iBT:** iBT Minimum score of 80 (overall), 20 (speaking)
- **Pearson PTE Academic:** Minimum score of 61 (overall and speaking)
- **LanguageCert Academic:** Minimum score of 65 (overall and speaking)

**Please note:** All tests must be taken at an official test centre.

Exemptions from taking the English testYou do not need to submit an English test if:

- You graduated from Dutch havo or vwo or mbo 4
- You hold an International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma, Career-related Programme Certificate of the IB, US High School diploma, GCE A(S) levels, or European Baccalaureate certificate (English Language 1 or 2)
- Your previous education (completed secondary school or university) was taught in English in a native English-speaking country (Australia, Canada \[except Quebec\], Ireland, New Zealand, UK, USA)

## Three-year programme

As a **pre-university level graduate**, you can obtain your bachelor's degree in Hotel Management in three years, saving you a year of time and tuition fees! You will start in the second year and receive additional classes and study material to help you master the content from the first year.
