## What does a job in Design & Production entail?

The Design & Production track prepares you for a role as a game designer or producer in the game industry, focusing on the entire game development process, from concept to release.

As a game designer or producer, you will be responsible for creating and refining the game experience. You will generate concepts, develop prototypes and apply iterative design based on test results. You collaborate with programmers, visual artists and other team members to design the game and make sure everything runs smoothly throughout the process. Depending on your choice, you can specialise in roles such as technical designer, level designer or producer, contributing to awesome games.

### Game Designer

Is involved throughout the entire game development process and is contributing to the player experience.

 

 

 

### Level Designer

Creates and designs game levels, ensuring the pacing, technical implementation and difficulty are balanced for the player experience.

 

 

 

### Tech Designer

Creates prototypes to test new game ideas, mechanics, and systems, and assists with tools and testing to streamline the design process.

 

 

 

### Producer

Facilitates the team in game development, optimising the process, creating plans, and assisting with SCRUM and budgeting.

 ### A master’s programme after Design & Production

After earning your bachelor's degree in CMGT Design & Production, you have the option of attending a [master's programme](https://www.buas.nl/en/programmes?f%5B0%5D=type%3AMaster) at BUas or at another university for further specialisation. With a VWO (or equivalent) diploma you can enrol on the fast track and get your bachelor’s and master’s in four years.
