The Business & Production track teaches you how to launch, lead and grow the games people play. You will be prepared for roles such as producer, marketing manager or community manager – or equally for founding your own game studio one day as a startup entrepreneur. This applies across all types of games, from console and mobile to PC.

You will dive deeply into the business of games, from understanding global player markets and designing studio business models to running marketing campaigns, leading production teams, and building player communities across Western and Asian markets. This track is popular with students who have ambitions in leadership, entrepreneurship or international marketing in the game industry and who have strong communication skills.

During your studies, you will work on projects with leading international game companies, including major developers and publishers in the industry.

## Courses per year

During this four-year bachelor programme, you will have the opportunity to work on real-world projects, collaborate with industry professionals, and build a portfolio of work to showcase your skills.

Year 1The first year consists of four blocks. In the first three blocks, you will attend lectures and seminars and work on clearly defined projects. This will allow you to develop basic skills and expand your knowledge.

In the fourth block, you will also work in multidisciplinary teams. This means working in a small team of students from different study tracks to develop a game – everyone in their own role. This way, you can practise your skills as well as working in a development team.

The skills you will develop:

- Market Intelligence and Analysis
- Designing the Business behind a Game Studio
- Essentials of Marketing and Community

Year 2The second year also consists of four blocks. During the first three blocks, you will rotate through the three B&P profiles (Studio Operations, Marketing & Community, and Production) to discover where you want to specialise. In the fourth block, you will work in a multidisciplinary team and attend lectures and seminars.

Topics covered include:

- Studio Operations and Financial Modelling
- International Marketing and Community
- Publishing Strategy and Trailer, Key Art, and Press Kit Production

Year 3In the third year, you will truly specialise in the role you have chosen. You will start the year by developing your own investor-ready business and marketing plan, defended to an industry panel. You will then spend three blocks working in a multidisciplinary team on a cross-track game – taking it from active development through launch and into post-launch analysis.

Topics covered include:

- Studio Formation and Entrepreneurship
- Live Marketing and Community
- Publishing and Launch
- Investor Pitching and Portfolio

Year 4In your graduation year, you can literally go in any direction. In the fourth year, students work on projects at companies all over the world! You will complete two projects this final year. You can choose from the following options:

- Placement at a game studio, publisher or other company
- Working on a personal project in the field of your chosen specialisation
- Developing a business plan and starting your own studio, supported by our specialists in entrepreneurship
- Going on an exchange for a semester, studying at one of our partner universities

You can also combine two above-mentioned projects into a year-long project. Alternatively, you may gain a year's work experience in a graduation internship.
