Design Thinking Summit – The next Step

A day full of workshops, inspiring keynotes, a book launch, demonstrations and networking opportunities.

Looking back

The Design Thinking Summit at Breda University of Applied Sciences turned out to be a vibrant and inspiring day. Close to 150 visitors actively participated in the workshops, the dialogues and enjoyed the experimental food and drinks. Keynote speakers Ron Swidler and Arne van Oosterom shared their presentations on ‘Designing for Joy’ and ‘The Future of Design Thinking’. The book ‘Advanced Imagineering, Designing Innovation as Collective Creation’ was officially launched. Several knowledge institutions and start-ups initiated workshops. In The BOX, in cooperation with Haaga-Helia UAS, we demonstrated research on hospitality experiences via sensory manipulation. In short, we have taken the next step into the Design Thinking landscape. Relive the atmosphere by checking out the after movie.

And since we aim for many more steps in the future; please feel invited to share your questions, thoughts and initiatives with us: design-thinking@buas.nl. Keep an eye on our Design Thinking webpage, and let’s co-create the future!

Invitation to join

Have you ever tried speculative design? Seriously played with LEGO®? Used co-creation to solve a complex problem? Managed to design a sustainable business model? Wondered about trend-based innovation? Wanted to empathize with the end-user? Attempted to visualize options? Played towards a solution via gamification? Developed experiences via storytelling?

A day full of experiments, not only because the design-thinking approach requires a playful attitude to solve tomorrow’s challenges. This event is organized in our freshly renovated inspirational Horizon building, celebrating the cooperation of industry representatives, our five academies and other knowledge institutes. Who knows what will happen? Your active participation can make the difference!
